Kareem Gongora of Fontana was sworn into office as a member of the San Bernardino County Committee on School District Organization on Oct. 28.
Gongora was appointed to fill an unexpired term in the 5th Supervisorial District.
The ceremony took place during the committee’s meeting at David W. Long Elementary School in Fontana.
Also taking the oath of office were Steve Frazee, who represents the 2nd District; James Willingham, who represents the 4th District; and L. Hilary Slotta, who was elected to a member at-large position.
The 11-member county committee deals with proposed changes to school district organization issues, including number of trustees, trustee and school district boundary areas, and unification.
